Sydney is the main protagonist in Saint Anything. She had lived her whole life in the shadow of her older brother, Peyton. Peyton was the golden child and center of attention his entire life, until he leaves a boy in a wheel chair becuase of a drunk driving accident. Subsequently, Syndey must adjust to her brother being in prison and the guilt her family seem to brush away, more concerned with Peyton than the boy who was injured for life. After a decision to switch schools, she meets new friends that help her grow into herself and deal with loss as she rediscovers the relationship with her brother and many others in her life.
